Co-founded by Jeffrey S. Morrow, Ph.D. and Cheryl R. Morrow, M.A., L.M.F.T., Southern California Psychology Group, Inc., with locations in the South Bay and Santa Clarita Valley areas of Los Angeles County, is dedicated to improving the lives of children, adolescents, and adults through psychological assessment and intervention, utilizing counseling and psychotherapy, psychological testing, psychoeducation, and consultation and collaboration services.
Jeffrey S. Morrow, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and president and co-founder of Southern California Psychology Group. For over twenty-five years, Dr. Morrow’s practice has focused on providing psychological assessment and intervention services to individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, and families. His clients typically struggle with issues related to Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder, high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), executive functioning impairments, marital/relationship conflicts, and life transitions (premarital counseling, divorce counseling, remarriage, stepfamily challenges, college adjustment, career transitions). He also enjoys working with athletes on issues related to sports performance.
In addition to his counseling and psychotherapy intervention work, Dr. Morrow conducts psychodiagnostic assessments with children, adolescents, and adults focused on their intellectual, academic, and social, emotional, and behavioral functioning that provide diagnostic information as well as recommendations for further interventions. As part of his assessment work, he attends school meetings (e.g., Student Study Team meetings, 504 Accommodation Plan meetings, Individualized Education Plan meetings) where he advocates with teachers, school counselors, and school administrators for what is psychologically in the best interests of his clients.
Dr. Morrow has served as a consultant to major corporations, school districts, and private organizations, helping business and community leaders effectively deal with issues of motivation, communication, leadership, discipline, team-building, self-esteem, and social skills development. He is also a frequent lecturer in the areas of parenting, classroom behavior management, and psychological advocacy for special needs/developmentally disabled populations.
Prior to his work with Southern California Psychology Group, Dr. Morrow was the Associate Director of the Center for the Improvement of Child Caring (CICC), a national non-profit organization devoted to improving the ability of parents to raise well-adjusted and productive children. As part of his work at CICC, he coordinated the implementation of numerous conferences and workshops for parent educators and parents throughout the United States and co-founded the National Parenting Instructors Association (NPIA).
Cheryl R. Morrow, M.A., L.M.F.T. is a licensed marriage and family therapist and co-founder of Southern California Psychology Group. Over the past thirty years, Cheryl has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, utilizing individual, couples, and family therapy to help her clients with issues primarily related to anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and health and wellness. Her clients typically seek her assistance for challenges they face with anxiety management, sports performance, school adjustment, relationship conflicts, college/career transition, and divorce/remarriage/stepfamily adjustment.
In addition to her clinical work, Cheryl has served as an early childhood educator and as a consultant to major corporations, aerospace facilities, and the military in regards to career transition and loss. She has also been a supervisor and trainer of marriage and family therapy interns working with cancer patients and their families at the Wellness Community in Los Angeles.
When they are not working with their clients, Jeffrey and Cheryl enjoy spending time with their five adult children as well as their dogs. They also enjoy engaging in a variety of recreational activities, including playing tennis, camping, snowshoeing, hiking, skiing, fishing, photography, attending various sporting events, and traveling, to name a few.
